Ranches and Rolling Hills, the annual benefit art show for Marin Agricultural Land Trust will be held in Nicasio, Marin County, May 21 and 22, 2016. Each year the artists help create a beautiful gallery inside the old Druids' Hall on the square in the little town of Nicasio. It's always an exciting week of preparations, a lot of hard work and long hours, but oh so worth it when you see the final result. We bring in panels and lighting and most importanly all the amazing one of a kind original art work created especially for this show. This year we have 36 participating professional artists both from the Oak Group from Santa Barbara and local Marin County artists.
I feel honored to have been taking part in "Ranches and Rolling Hills" for the past 16 years. My paintings this year reflect my love of the beautiful West Marin farmland and the goats, sheep and cows that graze in the pastures there. I visited Toluma Farms in Tomales and painted several painting of their dairy goats. Some of my other paintings depict the sheep and land on the amazing Gale Ranch in Chileno Valley, owned by Sally and Mike Gale who raise grass fed beef cattle and have a large organic apple orchard. Plan a trip to visit them in the Fall when you can pick your own apples right off their trees.
Marin Agricultural Land Trust is doing amazing work to help preserve farming in Marin County and I am honored to be playing a part in this effort through the sale of my paintings, and at the same time giving collectors an opportunity to take home paintings that reminds them every day of how fortunate we are to live in such a picturesque part of California.
