To me May signals "show time" as that's the month that starts off with our Annual Marin Open Studios. It's a great county wide event when the public will have an opportunity to visit the studios of over 250 participating Marin County artists, talk with them, and be able to see where they create their masterpieces. The dates this year are May 7 & 8, 14 & 15, open 11am to 5pm.

Some artist choose to be open only one of the weekends, but most are open both. Personally I will have my studio open both weekends, as will all the other artists in my building at San Anselmo Artist Studios at 1000 Sir Francis Drake Blvd., in beautiful San Anselmo, California. This will be my 15th year participating in the event and I always enjoy sharing my studio with my collectors and new visitors curious about my art. I especially enjoy talking with people and sharing conversations about art. It's always fun to have young visitors also and knowing that I may inspire them to be more creative. I have been working on a series of animal portraits lately for my upcoming Ranches and Rolling Hills show the 3rd weekend in May, and I will be previewing some of these paintings at my Open Studio along with my other work.     www.christincoy.com

You can pick up a color catalog with maps and images of all the participating artists' work at the preview gallery which will be at the Bon Air Center in Greenbrae, Space #302. There will be a Preview Gala on April 30, from 5 - 8 pm. where you can meet the artists and see their work. The gallery will be open daily through the end of Open Studio second weekend. http://marinopenstudios.org

In addition, this year I will be showing some of my paintings in Sausalito at the Madrigal Family Winery Sausalito Tasting Salon and Gallery alongside two other well known Marin County artists, Kathleen Lack and Dorallen Davis. We have all known each other  for 26 years and look forward to showing our work together in this Open Studio Preview show. There will be an artist reception on April 29 from 6 to 8pm.
